Our Founder
Hello! My name is Starlicia Levenshown-Miller, and I am excited to share a little bit about myself. I am based in Auroa, Ohio, where I enjoy both the vibrant energy of this non-diverse city but the tranquility of its beautiful educational system where both my young men went to school and graduated high school. I grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, and was raised by my mother, grandmother, and grandfather in a 4-bedroom home where about ten of us lived. I developed an admiration for my grandmother within her passion, strength, integrity, and most important tenacity to fight through whatever her or her family was faced with. Learning and developing that the same oil was over my MOTHER’S life had stretched over to my life even as child. Exploring motherhood at the age of 20 years old, which through the years continued to shape my personal and professional journey.

JAYSTARR was birthed in the year of 2019, after becoming unemployed by an agency that promoted her just to let her go. You know when you cannot be more important than the one that has graced you with opportunity to be elevated, but the whole time was preying on your downfall. At that time Starlicia went through a tumultuous time with the loss of her baby brother “JAY” but God still allowed her praying mother, her educated sister to be her PUSH and give her what she needed to make once what was her goal, come into fruition.
Oh But God, still travailed in her to “SEEK YE THE KINGDOM OF GOD” MATTHEW 6:33.

She has made a lasting difference in lives and in the community because she walks boldly in the calling that GOD has placed on her life. GOD truly favors this one right here! Despite being lied on and subjected to countless obstacles — even facing opposition from those in
this field who do not look like us — she has never allowed the noise of scrutiny or false accusations to silence her purpose. Instead, she has remained steadfast, showing resilience, love, and dignity in every step.
Through her work at JAYSTARR HOMES and in child protective services, she has given countless youths a safe place to grow, heal, and dream again. Her impact reaches far beyond the walls of her work; she restores faith, inspires perseverance, and embodies what it means to be chosen and equipped by GOD to serve others. Her courage and unwavering dedication continue to shift lives and strengthen the very fabric of our community in working with such a radical population.
